Tired of the emo, The hip hop, the rap? Looking for some hard hitting in your face rock? Well look into the shadows. The Mad Shadow Band that is. Abort Magazine says “Mad Shadow is full of heavy groove riffs, old-school style guitar solos, and raunchy blues style vocals that will have you feeling like you’re caught in some sort of time-travel inducing acid flashback.” How right they are.
With heavy influences of the legends of rock such as Led Zepplin, Cream, AC/DC, mixed in with the more modern rock of Collective Soul and and Soundgarden, Mad Shadow is a fresh sound that is sure to please any fan of true heavy Rock.
The most amazing thing about this Vancouver band is how a such a young group of guys have the sound that many musicians strive all of their lives to master.
Mad Shadow members are:
Eric Olfuson – Vocals
Erik takes his singing seriously, training with vocal coaches for years. His styling, similar to Robert Plant and Roger Daltry, has earned him a scholarship to the prestigious Berkley College of Music in Boston.
Tyler Lindgrin – Bass
Self taught on guitar and drums, he found his true calling as a bassist. His bluesy, jazzy, classic rock style adds volumes to every song.
Josh McDonald – Drums
Josh was born to play drums. Often compared to Neil Peart and John Bonham for his style and ability, he will carry you away with every beat.
Danny Sveinson – Lead Guitar and keyboards
Danny IS pure rock. People have described his playing as “old soul” and “natural” and have compared him to Jimmy Page and Joe Perry more than a few times. Danny is destined to become a true guitar god.
Mad Shadow is a band to watch, for it won’t be long before many many bands will be glad just to be able to stand in their shadow.
