Sweet Eve was formed in 2007 when Andre Smith & Alex Fox responded to craigslist ad posted by Tony Francis for musicians to play at the Whiskey a go-go. The band had been playing small bar shows in the San Fernando Valley until March of 2009 when the demo for their song “Learning to Love” was heard by a promoter and the band was offered a Saturday night slot at the legendary Viper Room. The band sold out the night and was offered multiple nights afterward but because of constant bass player changes the band was forced to decline these offers. Their second major show in Hollywood was at the Viper Room again, this time opening for Gilby Clarke of Guns n’ Roses fame. Once again the band sold out the night, this time with new bassist Dennis Leon and they were picked up by a major management company.
Sweet Eve’s style has been compared to Judas Priest and other New Wave of British Heavy Metal bands. With a punk like drive, metalesq licks and a arena Rock attitude, the band is able captivate audiences with their gripping performance and great audience connection. “I don’t know how anyone can follow them, you can’t top what just went on in there.” – fan after 7/11 show at the Viper Room.
